Animation illustrating simplified growth patterns of a scion grafted onto a rootstock over the course of four years. This animation depicts a tree with spiral branching pattern that produces three shoots per branch per year in addition to extension growth at the tip of each segment. Growth produced each year is color coded (see legend on the left). The animation was developed by Robert Burnett (Academic Technology Services), Brooke Jacobs (Associate Specialist, Department of Plant Sciences) and Professor Tom Gradziel (Department of Plant Sciences) at UC Davis.
